P3 TV Trailer plan and script

 

For my tv trailer I decided to use software that I was more familiar with, this allowed me to be more efficient and creative with my filmmaking. in terms of usability Filmora is very similar to Final Cut Pro, they both have basically the same functions. Filmora required me to use an account in order to export my project and unfortunately the final video has a watermark across it that takes up around a quarter of the screen. if I were to do this again I would remove the watermark by buying a full subscription to Filmora. 

the whole editing process took a few hours and was fairly straightforward, adide from a few mishaps that were dealt with in a timely manner

I used affinity designer to design my poster for my tv show. the dimensions of said poster are below. I also used the poster as background on the radio trailer so that the viewer wouldn't just be staring at a blank screen for a minute. I used several layers n order to bring my idea to life, adding differing text and other images on each subsequent layer. the main image shown is of a oil refiner I acquired via pixabay. I added a black and white element to the picture to give it a historical feel.

The creation process. the first time I created the radio trailer I got my voice actors to record their lines individually, when the first draft got deleted I switched over and had all the VA say their lines without interrupting the recording so its one solid audio log. I then cut this down in Final Cut Pro, removing unwanted lines and trimming it down to fit the required length of the trailer. as seen below the second draft got deleted but I managed to export it before the error occurred. 

I used 2 sound effects in my radio trailer, a gunshot and flame, both from BBC sounds. the background music is taken from the first 30 seconds of The Shawshank Redemption theme. I used this sound because it fits perfectly with the theme of my show. there were copyright issues of-course, but ill hopefully be able to dispute that by claiming its used for education reasons. 

As you can see below, Final Cut Pro had trouble keeping the files in the project. several times I had to redo the trailer or try and hunt down which files were corrupted.
